Situated on the lower slopes of Devil’s Peak, Vredehoek is popular with buyers for its views of greater Cape Town and the harbour as well as easy access to many of the city’s attractions, the CBD and creative hubs.
Vredehoek has had its fair share of older buildings being redeveloped into trendy apartment blocks, which has reinvigorated the area. Just released by Mason Developments is a brand new boutique development with nine apartments – The Bradwell, in Bradwell Road.
Mason Developments specialises in limited contemporary luxury living spaces in the city. Directors Joshua Kilian and Bruce Peach say they differentiate their developments by integrating global design and interior space trends.
“Designed by Juan Bernicchi of Juan Bernicchi Architects, the interiors capture the latest in contemporary urban design and the level of detail is considerable – right down to the exterior wall façade design, branding and lighting. The internal spaces are well organised and provide a sense of space, with effective use of large aluminium-framed glass partitioning doors and windows,” says Kilian.
The one- and two-bedroom apartments in The Bradwell are set across four levels, and range in size from 58 m2 to 110 m2, with a 180 m2 penthouse. Prices start at R2.65 million. All apartments have air-conditioning and solar geyser systems, as well as fibre-optic cabling. They include imported German kitchens and cupboards with engineered stone counter tops, appliances including ovens, hobs and extractors and wooden flooring. Security features include electric fencing, access control and remotely monitored CCTV and above-ground basement parking with 19 bays.
